“POWERHOUSE” Network Opportunities for Carlow Women in Business

County Carlow has a new Women in Business Network called “Powerhouse” which is being co-ordinated by the team in Carlow County Council’s – Local Enterprise Office.

“Powerhouse” - Carlow Businesswomen’s Network has been launched by Carlow Local Enterprise Office.  The second online event titled “Going Beyond - Developing a Growth Mindset in your Business” will take place on the July 23rd 2021.  Guest speakers for the event includes Business & Mindset Coach Lucy Gernon, the amazing Wendy Slattery from the successful start-up The Beauty Buddy and Sharon Keegan, founder of the Dragon's Den-funded Irish brand Peachy Lean.

Following the success of the first Powerhouse Networking event we have had wonderful engagement from people starting out on their journey to those with established businesses. The “Powerhouse” Carlow Businesswomen's Network has proven to be a great place to learn, grow and network with like-minded individuals. This has allowed “Powerhouse” to achieve an amazing line up of guest speakers with great business knowledge across a variety of sectors.

The network series has continued to grow from its launch last month. The monthly online sessions with experienced guest speakers have allowed the “Powerhouse” networking events to be a road map to enable business success. This month’s guest speakers will focus on the topic of developing “a growth mindset for your business”. Business and Mindset coach Lucy Gernon’s mission is to empower women and to reach for the stars. The inspirational Wendy Slattery form the Beauty Buddy is no stranger to growth, having recently secured over €500K in funding for her new app – Wendy will give us her hints and tips on how she got there. Finally, the well know Sharon Keegan from Peachy Lean will tell us about her journey on developing her brand from a start up to her recent investment from Dragon’s Den.

The programme will link in with National Women’s Enterprise Day in October which is now entering its 15th Year.  As an important milestone in the Local Enterprise Office calendar, it provides an opportunity each year to highlight the success stories of women in Carlow who continue to grow and develop business, across every sector.

The Women in Business Series will kick off its second session on the morning of Friday 23rd July at 10am.
