RT Smart Data launches Technology Solution for physical distancing challenges for small and large businesses.

Carlow based RT Smart Data has launched their new UWB (Ultrawide Band) smart wearable devices which can provide an auditable trail for social distancing and contact tracing. Speaking about the solutions available , Ciaran Bolger CFO of RT Smart Data said “ we have developed an innovative person to person smart wearable device to assist employers and employees in adhering to covid-19 social distancing guidelines in the workplace.  The system  has the ability to help employers to simplify the contact tracing process.  It is suited for use in office, manufacturing, construction, retail, logistics and hospitality.’ 

Speaking about the use of UWB  (Ultrawide Band) technology RT Smart Data says that UWB is ideally suited to real time proximity location services with a wide number of commercial uses under development in the past 12 months.  The technology allows precise accuracy down to 10cm, and it is this function that makes it ideal as a key aid for social distancing and contact tracing.   

As part of the development of the company RT Smart Data has signed a distribution agreement with SKS communications based in Dublin who will partner RT Smart Data in promoting the solution in the UK and Ireland.

The system has been in use at Swans Electrical Carlow, part of the Expert Group.  Sean Swan said that ‘the system provides our employees and customers with the confidence to return to the store.  The safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers is our number one priority’.   The system will remind staff, train for compliance and trace when needed.

The South East based company was supported by their Local Enterprise Office in Carlow County Council and Head of Enterprise , Kieran Comerford said “RT Smart Data is a prime example of how innovation and entrepreneurship meet in a time of crisis to provide a technology solution to the marketplace” , Comerford continued to say “we wish the company every success in the development of their base in County Carlow”.
