County Carlow signs up twinning arrangement with North Pole but needs primary schools across the County to help to spread the word.
Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Cllr. Tom O’Neill and local businessman Sean Swan of Swans Electrical has signed a twinning arrangement with the big man himself Santa in the North Pole to send a special message to primary school children across County Carlow for County Carlow – A Festive Family Experience 2020.
The agreement meant that Santa took a secret visit to County Carlow and recorded a special message for all 44 primary schools and now he wants the children, their teachers, their friends and families and all who know them to watch them on YouTube and like them and he made Mr. Swan & the Cathaoirleach promise that the school with the most views and likes will win a €1,500 voucher for electrical equipment for their school. Santa had a quick chat with Sean Swan who has agreed to give the winning school a Samsung Tablet to raffle for a lucky student also.
Cllr. Tom O’Neill, Cathaoirleach with Carlow County Council said, “In our primary schools, we have amazing young people who have been so good this year and I’m delighted Santa agreed to come record a special message for all the students.” Tom continued to say, “As a county, everyone is really pulling together to make this Christmas special and we in the Council are doing all we can to help everybody have a safe, happy and healthy Christmas.”
Sean Swan, owner of Swans Electrical said, “I’m delighted to help out this year and the community in County Carlow has been so good to the business community this year in shopping local and also being local online, personally as a business person I’d like to thank the people of County Carlow who continue to shop with my store and many other businesses at this time.”
