The Green Panel 10 ways to address Green Issues & Be More Competitive

Local Enterprise Week is organised every year by the 31 Local Enterprise Offices throughout the country. Informational events are organised and are open to all, from budding entrepreneurs to established businesses and provides businesses with the opportunity to get expert advice on key areas of business This year Local Enterprise Week takes place from Monday, March 6th to Friday, March 10th. Together with locally organised events there are a number of National Spotlight events that will take place online and are open to everyone across the country. 

As part of this year’s Local Enterprise Week, the LEO Carlow is delighted to announce that it will host a National Spotlight Event, “The Green Panel, 10 ways to address Green Issues & Be More Competitive”.

The Green Panel aims to inform, inspire, and engage owner managers and their key staff in how they can implement Green technologies, processes and products to their business in order to be more competitive. 

Facilitated by journalist, broadcaster and presenter of RTE's Ear to the Ground, Helen Carroll, a journalist with over 25 years’ experience, the event will feature a lively and dynamic discussion with leading entrepreneurs and experts in this sector including:

  • Ronan Murphy of VisionGreen Consultancy Ltd., who collaborate with companies of all sizes and support them in first understanding the impact their business has on the environment, and then helping them put strategies and solutions in place to reduce this environmental impact – ultimately driving sustainable change. VisionGreen Consultancy Ltd. provide expert consultancy services to Carlow business through LEO Carlow’s Green for Micro Programme.

  • Pat Amond of Carlow Toolmaking Services Ltd., a niche market company which produces high quality and innovative precision components for a range of multinational customers. Pat has successfully availed of a Green for Micro voucher through LEO Carlow and used it to reduce his business’s energy costs.

Speaking about the event, Brian O’Donoghue, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council said: “At a time when Carlow businesses face greater challenges than ever before in relation to their energy costs it is fantastic to see the LEO Carlow leading the way in exploring solutions through this National Spotlight Event.”.

Jim Woods, Business Advisor with the Local Enterprise Office said “We are delighted to provide this opportunity to Carlow businesses to learn how they might improve their business’s Green Credentials and also improve their bottom line. Over the last two years many Carlow businesses have benefited from our very successful Green for Micro programme which has enabled business to scrutinise their energy usage and take action accordingly to reduce costs”.
