Winners announced for the Festive Family Experience ‘Light up Carlow’ Photography Competition
The last of the Festive Family Experience 2021 competitions has concluded with three winners and four runners-up being announced. The ‘Light up Carlow’ Photography Competition which was run by Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office in association with County Carlow Chamber was overseen by a panel of judges and the three winners will take away a prize of a €300 Love Carlow voucher each. The three winning entries were by Margaret Darcy, Michelle Coleman, and Laura Bick. Four runner-up prizes of a €25 Love Carlow voucher have also been awarded to Sarah Butler, Shauna Byrne, Jackie Murphy, and Pajo O’Brien.
Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Cllr. Fintan Phelan, said, “I’m delighted with the response we had from the County Carlow community for this competition and there were some wonderful and heart-warming photographs submitted.” The Cathaoirleach continued to say, “2021 has been another difficult year for all and we in Carlow County Council are keen to play our part in making the festive season as positive as possible with the Festive Family Experience Programme.” Fintan continued to say, “Congratulations to all our winners on their beautiful photographs, and a special thanks to Pierce Kavanagh, Linda Neville, and Jade Lawlor from the Local Enterprise Office who put the competition together and also co-ordinated the Festive Family Experience Programme.”
Speaking about the Festive Family Experience Programme 2021, Kieran Comerford, Head of Economic Development & Enterprise with the Local Enterprise Office in Carlow County Council said, “For 2021 we continued engaging with the community in a mostly online way for the Festive Family Experience, with this competition, the Schools Competition, Look For Local Facebook competitions, and also the three Fireworks events throughout the County, and we have been so pleased with the level of engagement from the communities across the County and in turn the support for local enterprises.” Concluding, Kieran said, “This finishes the Festive Family Experience so we wish all our communities well for 2022 and we look forward to continuing to engage with everyone throughout the year.”
