The Carlow Business Day Team is pleased to announce a special event aimed at those working in the tourism sector in Carlow or those aspiring to establish a tourism business. This exciting event takes place on October 9th, 2024 in the Seven Oaks Hotel and promises to offer key insights from the Irish Independent Travel Editor, Pól Ó Conghaile.

The event kicks off with a networking lunch at 1.30 p.m., providing attendees with an excellent opportunity to connect with other businesses operating in the sector in Carlow. Following the lunch, the spotlight will turn to Pól Ó Conghaile, one of Ireland’s most respected travel journalists, who will deliver an informative after-dinner talk. Known for his deep knowledge of the Irish tourism sector, Pól will present a 30-minute talk titled, “Tomorrow’s Tourism: Embracing Sustainability and Innovation.” His presentation will delve into three critical areas shaping tourism at present: slow tourism which aligns closely with Carlow’s offering and the tourism brand for the county “wander off the track”, sustainable and regenerative practices and the integration of technology in tourism.

Pól will provide practical takeaways and actionable insights that attendees can apply to their own businesses followed by invaluable insights and input from Carlow County Council Chief Executive, Coilín O’Reilly and Justine Carey,  Regional Programme Manager, Fáilte Ireland.
