We are undoubtedly facing a growing climate and biodiversity crisis. Art and creativity are more important than ever to raise awareness, empower citizens and drive lasting change. We will be discussing the crucial role of creativity as a method for enabling true sustainability on a societal scale. Art practices are undoubtedly varied, yet we are at a time now where they must be united with a common thread - sustainability. The session will entail a history of art as climate action, how to make art practices more sustainable and how every artist has a role to play. This empowering and engaging workshop will ensure participants come away feeling inspired by having the necessary tools to make not only their own practice more sustainable, but also the world around them. From using found materials to reducing pollution to enhancing the natural environment, the practical workshop will allow everyone to embed sustainability into their creative enterprises.

Craftwork 4.0 All is defined as a platform of international and intercultural co-creation, created among 12 organizations from 12 countries, and aiming at supporting emerging craft artists and practitioners to co-create, cooperate and promote their work, developing a common European programming of non-national craft artists and of trainings.

As a sustainability trainer and artist, I have been bridging the gap between creativity and sustainability since the beginning. Sourcing sustainable materials for art practices has been the primary focus of making collages. As the Head of Sustainability and lead trainer at Veri Connect, I design and deliver courses around best practices for reducing environmental harm and provide cohorts with resources and certification for sustainable practices.
