Recon Carlow 2014

Recon Carlow 2014 is a tried and tested support  intervention for people who have a business Idea, who are at the early stages of start-up or who have started a business and need to give it a kick-Start.

It is a two week boot camp style start your own business program that focuses very much on the personal and professional development of the entrepreneur/ owner manager while challenging them on the fundamentals of their business idea

Recon gets people with an idea to ask themselves the following questions:

•  Have you clearly defined the value you will bring to your customers?
• Are you fully committed to business planning?
• Who are your target customers?
• How do you propose to communicate with these customers?
• Why will your customer spend their money with you and not your competition?
• Is your Business Model the most effective one for the solution you wish to provide?
• Do you have the sales and marketing skills to deliver on your business plan?

If you can’t answer all of these questions then Recon Carlow is an essential program for you.

What do you need to do?

1. Have a business idea or be an early stage startup
2. Sign up to a ten day program of intensive training & support
3. On the last day pitch your business idea to a panel of experts

• Validation of your business idea 
• Building a sales strategy
• Building a marketing strategy
• Bookkeeping and taxation workshops
• Sourcing and applying for funding
• Knowing your own strengths (psychometric testing)

As a result of the time spent in an intensive workshop environment, and the shared learning with up to twenty other like-minded people. Recon Carlow 2014 will give you the confidence plan your business properly, develop a sales and marketing strategy and if needed apply for funding.

The Recon program has been delivered in Carlow twice yearly since 2009 and it has been a massive boost for many people, participants have often said that they would not have started their Enterprise if it wasn’t for the Recon program.
