Menopause is no longer just a health issue — it is a workforce, leadership, and wellbeing issue.
Several major studies and surveys show that menopause symptoms are pushing a meaningful number of women out of the workforce, reducing hours, or stepping back from career progression. About 1 in 10 women (10%) say they have left a job because of menopause symptoms. The same study found 14% reduced working hours ,8% avoided applying for promotions and 44% said menopause affected their ability to work.
A CIPD survey reported 67% of working women aged 40–60 said menopause symptoms negatively affected them at work,53% had taken sick leave due to symptoms, around 20% considered leaving work and 6% had left work because of lack of menopause support.
Irish workplace research from The Menopause Hub found 80% said menopause affected work performance ,39% took time off due to symptoms and 30% described symptoms as severe or debilitating. There’s also evidence the issue disproportionately affects women in senior or highly skilled roles, because menopause often occurs during peak earning and leadership years
Our conference is designed to address those challenges directly by creating a supportive, evidence-based space where women, employers, healthcare professionals, and advocates can come together to share knowledge, practical strategies, and real-world solutions. The event will focus on empowering women to remain healthy, confident, and fully supported at work and in life during perimenopause and menopause.
Through expert speakers, lived experiences, workplace guidance, wellness supports, and open conversation, the conference aims to:
- reduce stigma around menopause
- improve awareness and education
- support women in sustaining their careers and wellbeing
- encourage menopause-friendly workplaces
- connect women with practical resources and community support.
Our four speakers will work together to build supports and guidance for our audience to take away to empower women through education, connection, and support during perimenopause and menopause, while helping workplaces and communities better understand the real impact menopause can have on careers, wellbeing, and quality of life.
