Digital for Craft & Creative Enterprise: From Making to Selling Online,A Practical Two-Hour Workshop
It is important to understand which digital channel suits your business right now, how buyers search for what you make, and what has to be in place before someone will take out a card and pay. Most makers are missing two or three small things rather than doing anything fundamentally wrong. This session finds them.
Over two practical hours, you will choose a route to market instead of scattering your energy across many, and learn how to design and build a content and follow-up rhythm that you can consistently maintain. Whether you have never sold online or you have been trading for years and want it to work harder, you will leave with decisions made and the first steps written down.
The emphasis throughout is on what craft and creative businesses face day to day. Real products, real prices, real conversations with customers. Not marketing theory.
This workshop is ideal for:
- Crafts and creative makers who want to turn a passion into a full-time business
- Early-stage creative businesses in Co. Carlow and the wider south-east region
- Established makers who sell at markets or by word of mouth and want to reach beyond their existing network
- Anyone with a website, shop or social account that is not producing the sales it should
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Choose the right digital channel for their stage of business, weighing up social media, online marketplaces and their own online shop
- Use the search terms their customers actually search for, so new buyers can find them on Google and marketplace search
- Turn followers, likes and website visits into completed orders by removing the obstacles that stop people buying
- Reply to enquiries, follow up and approach stockists without feeling like a nuisance
- Build an email list and a repeat customer base that smooths out unpredictable income
Workshop Content:
- Choosing your route to market: social, marketplaces and your own shop
- Getting found beyond the people who already know you
- Turning interest into orders
- Content and consistency without burnout
