Celebrating 20 years of National Enterprise Awards

Whether it’s a local food producer or a start-up software company, everyone loves a small business success story. The Local Enterprise Offices are integral to supporting successful Irish businesses with financial assistance, training and mentoring.

On May 24th, ‘20 years of winners’ are being celebrated by the Local Enterprise Offices at the 2018 National Enterprise Awards in the Mansion House, Dublin.

“The awards are a great opportunity for us to acknowledge the achievements of Ireland’s micro-enterprises down through the years,” says Breda Fox, Chair of the National Enterprise Awards’ organising committee. “It’s our chance to celebrate their economic impact on their local communities, the jobs they have created, and the overall growth of their businesses over the last two decades.”

She adds: “The Local Enterprise Office is the first-stop-shop for anybody thinking of starting and growing a business in Ireland. We encourage and promote entrepreneurship. We provide them with financial assistance, mentoring and guidance to help them make their businesses successful.”

Retrospective: 20 Years of Winners

Previous winners have all been invited to this year’s ceremony and their continued growth, contribution to the economy and job creation, will be celebrated.

“The previous winners have had tremendous development over the years. Combined, the previous winners now employ 832 people, have a turnover of over €131 million per annum and have €58 million in exports to 52 countries. These achievements deserve to be celebrated and we know they will inspire other Irish companies too in the future.”
