Every company must have a Company Secretary and the role is extremely important under Company Law. This is particularly so in multi-owner companies as the Company Secretary has a key position in the organisation ensuring that satisfactory paperwork and contols are in place, statutory returns are made in a timely manner and Board meeting/decisions are recorded in an coherent accurate manner. It is critically important that any appointed Company secretary understands the legal and managerial responsibilities and obligations of the role.
