National Enterprise Awards - Local Competition
The National Enterprise Awards takes place on Thursday 25th May 2017 in the Mansion House in Dublin.
The Cork City Local Enterprise Office is inviting businesses from the Cork City region that satisfy the eligibility criteria below to compete to be the Cork City nominated finalist.
Closing Date/Time:
Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 4:00 PM
Process:
The applications received will be assessed using the following scoring system:
- Business plan: 20 marks
- Marketing: 20 marks
- Finance: 20 marks
- Technology & Innovation: 20 marks
- Entrepreneurial skills of promoter: 20 marks
Note: A business plan and financials are a required part of the application.
The Cork City winner will receive a prize of €2,500 and will advance to the national competition where the following prizes will be offered:
- Overall Winner (to receive €10,000)
- Best Export Business (to receive €5,000)
- Best Start Up Business (5 years or less) (to receive €5,000)
- Innovation Award (to receive €5,000)
- 8 Regional Winners (to receive €2,000 each)

The decision of the judges is final at all stages of the competition
Eligibility:
- The Business must have 10 employees or less
- The Business must have been in receipt of grant assistance or other supports (e.g.. training, mentoring) from LEO Cork City
- LEO Cork City clients who have transferred to Enterprise Ireland within the last 12 months are also eligible (please note any clients who may have transferred to Enterprise Ireland more than 12 months ago are not eligible);
- Previous County winners that satisfy the above criteria are eligible to enter.
Important Dates:
- Please note that all finalists must be available to attend the National Judging Rounds held in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone on one of the following dates:
- Tuesday 28th & Wednesday 29th March, 2017 or Tuesday 11th & Wednesday 12th April, 2017
- Attendance at the National Enterprise Wards Event on 25th May, 2017 is also mandatory.
