Sustainable Development for Business

Sustainability is becoming a strategic driver for business of all sizes, creating opportunities to build capacity, innovate and grow. Sustainable Development for Business is a way of thinking about how the world businesses operate in new approaches that will help make a balanced impact at a social, environmental and economic level.

This Sustainable Development for Business workshop will help you understand what sustainable development really means and equip you with the mindset and tools needed to analyse your business models and identify changes and opportunities for sustainable innovation and growth.

The workshop will give a very brief overview of what sustainability means and how it has evolved, outline key sustainable development approaches, discuss performance and two relatively new economic concepts that can help re-engineer existing or develop brand new business models.

The workshop will then move to an interactive session where we explore how to make a ‘Sample Business’ more sustainable using both the Doughnut and Circular Economy approaches.

To make the session as practical as possible, we will complete the workshop by applying our learnings to participants’ own businesses. The Triple Layered Business Model Canvas will be used and one or two willing participants will be invited to discuss their broadened business model with the group.
