The Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny has launched the autumn 2019 training programme schedule for entrepreneurs, owner/managers and employees of micro-enterprises. The schedule is tailored to meet the needs of the entrepreneur and their employees operating in small businesses who require relevant skills to develop the business.

After years of preparation and debate the Brexit issue is expected to come into effect on 31st October. The onus is on businesses owners to be aware of how it could significantly impact on their current economic activity. To help prepare and inform businesses, the Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny will host a number of events including “Brexit Business Advisory Clinic” on Tuesday 10th September which involves one-to-one meetings with our Brexit Advisory Denis Casey. We also welcome back Lorna Kelly to deliver another “Prepare for Customs Workshop” on Tuesday 2nd October followed by  “David McWilliams talks all things Economic” on Wednesday 3rd October. All of these events are free but pre-registration is required.

In the run-up to Savour Kilkenny, the Local Enterprise Office is hosting a seminar aimed at people who are considering setting up a food/beverage business. “Foodpreneurs- Top Tips to Starting a Business” will provide information first hand from successful entrepreneurs from around the country who initial started out small in their kitchens/farms and have grown successfully over time. Learn from guest speakers James Burke, Ireland’s leading advisor in the food sector, Helen Gee of G’s Gourmet Jams, award winning live yoghurt producer, Nicholas Dunne of Killowen Farm and Margaret Hoctor of Killmullen Lamb. There will also be Q&A and group mentoring sessions with speakers.

‘Last year approximately 600 participants attended training supports organised by the Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny, ranging from Start your Own Business Courses, Social Media Marketing Courses, Management Development Programmes, etc. A further 282 people attended seminars co-ordinated by our office” commented Fiona Deegan, Head of Enterprise.
