Bizfest 2017

Bizfest logoNow in its 4th year, Bizfest 2017 will be hosted by the south-east region Local Enterprise Office’s and Enterprise Ireland. “Look further, think bigger, be ambitious” is the theme of this year’s event which takes place on Wednesday 21st June in the state of art auditorium, National Opera House, Wexford.

Bizfest aims to provide an opportunity for owners, managers and their key staff across the South east to make connections while immersing themselves in the experience, entrepreneurial spirit and stories of entrepreneurs. The event has 3 elements; the first element is a networking lunch, the second is an exhibition area which introduces attendees to services which may benefit their business. The third element is a panel event featuring unique business people who have experience on the local, national and international stage.

This year’s panel includes Julie Sinnamon CEO of Enterprise Ireland along with a panel of high profile entrepreneurs from the South Eastern region including Patsy Carney CEO of Eirgen based in Waterford, Wexford entrepreneur Jim Hughes CEO of Innovate, local Kilkenny based entrepreneur Margaret Kirwan, Goatsbridge Trout Farm; Paul Jacob Owner of Smart Storage based in Wicklow, Fiona Dillon, Tumbledown Media Ltd and author of Freddy Buttons book series from County Carlow and Lauren Murphy from St Killian’s Candle Company, based in Cahir Co Tipperary; the inventors and distributors of a patented candle burning system. The event is hosted by Newstalk presenter and Wexford native, Ivan Yates.

Speaking about the event Fiona Deegan, Head of Enterprise at Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny said; “Bizfest is a popular, successful networking event; last year it was held here in Kilkenny and generated much interest from businesses and helped make connections happen. She added “I would encourage businesses from the area to participate; it is a fantastic opportunity for them to make connections with their peers across the region who will attend this event”
