Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny launch their Spring online Training Programme

The Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny has launched their online training programme for Spring 2021. The programme provides potential new entrepreneurs and small business operating in the County the opportunity to develop new skills and adapt to changing economic environment. The Local Enterprise Office will continue to delivery virtual training for the forthcoming season as the benefits to date has been time saving, convenience and ensures safety for participants in these difficult times.

In these unprecedented times, online shopping has been growing steadily and the Irish population are considered to have one of the highest spend on ecommerce in Western Europe. With the support of the online trading vouchers, there has been a surge in online operations across the County. The emphasis now is for retailers to optimise the sales opportunity and build consumer confidence and trust. The Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny has a range of digital related courses on offer including digital marketing programmes and courses to ensure GDPR compliance.

The training schedule also includes Start Your Own Business Courses including one specifically for food related start-ups, financial courses including book-keeping and taxation and marketing programmes e.g. building a strong brand and media skills training along with seminars in relation to human resources and food safety management.

Fiona Deegan, Head of Enterprise advises “that, a total of 1,671 participated in 118 training and management development programmes – the majority of which took place virtually during the year. Like businesses, the Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny had to quickly adapt to changes by offering virtual online training as a direct result of COVID 19 restrictions. The offering also changed to assist small businesses to reskill and re-organise their operations in terms of new work practices, new legislation requirements, moving online, etc.”

She added “the Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny is also conscious of other challenges facing entrepreneurs including Brexit and building green and sustainable business for the future. Programmes will be developed on an ongoing basis to meet with the needs to the microenterprise sector”
