This is a two day course.
Participants will learn the skills to build a low cost website and update and maintain same. This programme is for business owners who either have no website OR who have a dated website that they want to replace with a new brochure-style WordPress website.

Posts vs Pages: creating, editing and deleting both
Themes: what they are and how to find, install and customise them
Images:
- sourcing copyright-free images
- uploading and inserting images
- SEO for images
- suitable file sizes / dimensions
- editing images to adjust the file size and dimensions
SEO:
- an overview of what SEO is
- installing a great SEO plug-in and using it to optimise a site
Menus and widgets: what they are and how to use them
Content: how to maximise its impact
Staying safe: updates, security and backups
On completion of this course, participants will have a solid understanding of how to create, maintain and update a WordPress website. They will also understand how to install and customise themes, and will understand what plugins are and how to find, install and update them.
Participants will be able to navigate around WordPress with confidence and will understand how to create and edit posts, pages, menus and widgets, and how to edit and upload images for their website.
Participants will understand the importance of SEO, and will learn how to optimise their website in lots of different ways in order to boost its visibility in the search engines.
