Level 1 in Food Safety Training (Food Safety Authority of Ireland recognised) is an introduction to food safety and is ideal as induction training for staff. The training features an introduction to HACCP and covers all requirements e.g. personal hygiene, cleanliness in the kitchen etc. that will allow staff operate in a safe and compliant manner.

Objective:

The aim of this programme is to equip participants with an understanding of Food Safety, HACCP and Allergy Management guidelines in a food environment. 

Who is this for:

Level 1 in Food Safety Training (Food Safety Authority of Ireland recognised) is an introduction to food safety and is ideal as induction training for staff. The training features an introduction to HACCP and covers all requirements e.g. personal hygiene, cleanliness in the kitchen etc. that will allow staff operate in a safe and compliant manner.


Course Overview:

  • Particpants will get a refresher on the key requirements of Food Safety & HACCP
  • Particpants will understand and learn to recognise the key indicators for compiling and implementing Allergen safe workspaces, menu descriptions, standard recipes requirements and staff awareness.
  • The participant will also refresh their knowledge of the good practices required in their food operations in line with legislative changes and requirements of the Irish and EU law and standards
  • Certificate of attendance will be issued to all Particpants and lasts 2 years 

Content: 

  • HACCP principles and application of HACCP.
  • Pre requisites to HACCP, Personal Hygiene, Cleaning and Pest Control.
  • Product Specification, Food Traceability, Labelling and Product Recall.
  • Allergen Recognition, Menu Compilation & Customer Dialogue.


Outcomes:

  • Participants will have a heightened awareness of their activities and procedures and are more in tune with best practises in their individual roles in food preparation. 
  • Participants will lead by example and display competence within a kitchen/service area setting. They will be aware of further training opportunities and look forward to upskilling to the next level (Level 2) in due course. 
  • Participants will have certification at Food Safety Authority of Ireland Level 1 which will last them 2 years and will require refreshment at that juncture.
