With the increase of businesses going on-line GDPR Audits provide a 2.5 hour interactive workshop which will allow participants gain an understanding on how data protection impacts on doing business digitally. It focuses on maintaining compliance of a website, all things social media and how to contact clients correctly through marketing.

Objective:

The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with an understanding of operating their website compliantly. With many businesses operating ecommerce websites as a result of Covid19, this workshop will focus on having the correct measures in place to ensure compliance with the data protection legislation and GPDR. Participants will also learn how to manage social media with data protection legislation in place.

Content:

1. What is the General Data Protection Regulation and how does it affect my business?
Background to the GDPR
Enforcement / fines
Implications to businesses including case studies

2. GDPR Talk – definitions
This section will provide an understanding to the language of the GDPR

3. What are my obligations under GDPR
This section will review the principles of the GDPR and the responsibilities businesses have in processing personal data

4. Marketing & GDPR
Case studies
What do I do with my existing marketing list?
How do I manage consent?
What are the do’s and don’ts of marketing & GPDR

5. Is my website compliant?
The Data Protection Commission regularly undertakes desktop reviews of websites – here we look at the elements of possible reviews including; i. Cookie Consent ii. Privacy Policies
Chat Bots
Third Party Plug ins

6. Social Media
Managing data protection & social media

Outcomes:

  • Participants will learn about the obligations & responsibilities required by the Data Protection Legislation when processing personal data through their businesses. 
  • Having completed the workshop, participants will understand how to manage their marketing campaigns in a way that is compliant with GDPR and avoid enforcement action procedures from the Data Protection Commission 
  • Participants will learn what the regulatory requirements of a website are in accordance with data protection legislation and GDPR. They will understand what information goes into a privacy policy and cookie policy and will be provided with a template to be able to work on their own.
