New Frontiers is an Entrepreneur Development Programme run over three phases, which provides an integrated and comprehensive set of business development supports to participants including incubation space, training, individual coaching and funding. It is delivered in the Cork Region by the Rubicon Centre. 


The Rubicon Centre is an incubation centre located on the CIT campus and is home to 60 knowledge based start-up companies. Clients based at the Rubicon are at different stages of development, from concept stage to completing their first customer orders and many are already trading on international markets.

Ignite is an incubation centre in University College Cork for higher education graduates of any discipline to create jobs by nurturing entrepreneurship, accelerate business start-ups, turn innovative ideas into innovative products and services and participate in a structured programme on all aspects of bringing a product or service to market.

Schools Enterprise Programme

The Student Enterprise Programme is an enterprise education programme that aims to provide support to second level schools throughout the South Cork region wishing to embrace entrepreneurial projects and stimulate business skills within their schools curriculum.

Food Academy Start Logo

The Food Academy Start Programme is aimed at supporting and nurturing start up food businesses. It is centered on workshops, designed by Bord Bia and SuperValu. 


PINC is a part-time programme for female entrepreneurs who want to take their business ideas to the next stage. Run over eight weeks in the Rubicon Centre it allows participants to balance their family commitments while at the same time plan and develop their business ventures. PINC provides participants the opportunity to focus on their business idea in a structured group environment, whilst at the same time offering one to one business mentoring on all aspects of the project, including market research, business development and funding advice.

A programme for CIT students to develop their businesses over the summer months. The students receive a number of supports including training, mentoring, seed funding and office space in the Rubicon Centre.
