The Local Enterprise Office Dun Laoghaire Rathdown (LEO DLR) is organising a ½ day morning seminar to introduce the new Companies Bill legislation to companies in the county. The event will give owners, managers and directors a practical overview of the Act, enabling them to successfully manage the transition from the existing law to the new framework.

The Companies Bill is the single biggest piece of legislation in Irish legal history and will repeal more than two dozen statutes, effectively, the entire of the Companies Acts 1963 to 2013, with the exception of EU-derived securities law, and will consolidate them in a single statute.

The legislation requires existing private companies to take an active step after enactment to prepare a new-form constitution and elect either to re-register as a designated activity company or to register (or be deemed to register) as a new-form private company limited by shares. Owners, managers and directors of Irish limited companies need to be ready for these changes and need to know how the legislation will affect them.

Training is provided by Komsec Ltd, one of Ireland’s most respected and leading providers of Company Secretarial Services.

This practical workshop will feature interactive exercises and case studies. It will seek to address the very real concerns and issues for business people which arise from this ground-breaking change in legislation. It is designed to meet the needs of owners, managers and directors of a limited company of any size, but focussing especially on owner-managers/directors of small businesses in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown.
