Join us for this interactive workshop on making PR work for you and your business. Presented by Ellen Gunning, Director, Irish Academy of Public Relations, this ½ day morning workshop will provide you with case studies of the good and bad uses of PR and will also cover the following:

  • What is PR & how does it work?
  • When to use PR and when not to
  • Using PR to launch or promote a product
  • Using PR with limited resources
  • The power of local media and celebrity endorsers (press and radio)
  • Creating content (photo, video, blog, press release)

Ellen Gunning is a director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations, a specialist communications college with 25+ years experience of teaching PR, journalism, event management and Social Media marketing in 6 languages across 50 countries. Ellen has handled PR for national and international clients in politics, business, the arts and charity sectors for over 20 years.

She is author of three books: Public Relations a practical approach, Capital Women of Influence and 10 Red Hot Tips to Promote your Business.

Ellen is a national past-president of the International Public Relations Association and former Chairman of the National PR Institute's Education Council. She is highly regarded as a motivational speaker. She has received a journalism award from the European Parliament, a Fellowship from the Public Relations Institute of Ireland and an international recognition from the Nigerian Event Management Association.

Ellen is currently chairman of 103.2 Dublin City fm radio station, director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations and a member of the executive council of the European Association of Distance Learning.
