“Every problem breeds opportunity, and as an entrepreneur we must adapt to changing markets in order to preserve our business and Irish jobs.
At the start of the Coronavirus outbreak here in Ireland, there was an unprecedented demand for alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel from both the general public, businesses and front-line staff. I was inundated with requests to source this and secure a much-needed supply for those who needed it most.
Although my primary business is Christmas wreaths, I have extensive contacts around the world and I am heavily involved in the import and export market.
I capitalised on my business’ vast supply chain and the contacts I have in all corners of the globe to ensure Ireland was well equipped for the fight against Covid-19.
We are now selling huge volumes of hand sanitizer gel high quality PPE equipment directly to businesses. We have donated lots of hand sanitizer and PPE equipment to local elderly people and those in the high-risk categories as well as to front-line services such as homeless charity workers and the local Gardai.
The Covid-19 crisis is actually opening new doors for me as it’s giving me the opportunity to establish strong contacts as I network my way through this sales bonanza!
Irish people have a great spirit and I hope my products can help in the fight against Covid-19. The quicker I can get back to my Christmas trees the better!”
