...Making It Happen

Kildare County Council is seeking expressions of interest from fashion design and textile facilitators to provide introductory skills workshops

Supported by the Local Enterprise Office, Kildare County Council is seeking expressions of interest from fashion design and textile facilitators to provide introductory skills workshops in the lead up to the hub opening in 2026.

Building on County Kildare’s long and fine history in fashion and textiles, Kildare County Council acquired a former bank building in Monasterevin which is being refurbished for use as a Fashion and Textile Design Hub for the County’s entrepreneurs. It is envisaged that the Hub will support established and emerging designers and SMEs in the Fashion and Textile industry of Kildare and the Mideast of Ireland and support training and upskilling of new entrants for employment in this vibrant sector.

We are open to a wide range of creative disciplines, including sewing, tailoring, fashion design, millinery, textile upcycling, and leather work.

Workshops are typically half-day sessions, depending on the format and activity.

Workshop Details:

  • Location: Monasterevin, Co. Kildare
  • Capacity: Maximum of 20 Participants
  • Included in the space: Tables, chairs, access to power points, screen and kitchenette.
  • Equipment: Facilitators are responsible for supplying all materials and tools needed for their workshops
  • Promotion: Workshops will be promoted via Kildare County Council's social media platforms. Facilitators are also expected to promote their own workshops to help maximise reach and attendance.
