Kildare Company Wins at National Enterprise Awards

Leixlip Tech Startup Takes Home Prize

QPQ, who are supported by Local Enterprise Office Kildare, were winners at this year’s National Enterprise Awards. The awards, which took place virtually were broadcast online from the Mansion House in Dublin, are in their 22nd year and run annually by the Local Enterprise Offices.


The Kildare FinTech company took home the Overall Mid-East Region Award. Founded by Greg Chew and Co-founded by Aidan Finn, QPQ is bringing to market a series of unique technological solutions in the financial services. The platform can be described as a settlement platform for goods, services and payments with integrated trade and corporate finance.


QPQ have followed in the footsteps of two other Kildare companies, with global skincare company Pestle & Mortar winning top prize last year (2019) and AgTech company, Terra NutriTech also winning the overall title the previous year (2018).


Congratulating Greg and the team at QPQ, Jacqui McNabb Head of Enterprise, Kildare County Council said:

These awards shine a light on enterprise and the contribution small businesses make to our economy and to our society. It’s showing, in a very positive light, a lot of what’s going on in the country in terms of entrepreneurial activity and innovation”.

She continued:

"The LEOs are the ‘first-stop shop’ for business support. There are many support services that are available including funding and other financial supports for qualifying businesses. Then there are ‘soft-supports’ like management development programmes, business mentoring services and networking opportunities”

The National Enterprise Awards are one of a number of initiatives that the Local Enterprise Offices run to foster entrepreneurship across the country. Others include Local Enterprise Week, the Student Enterprise Programme and National Women’s Enterprise Day. See
