This course will focus on the skills needed to build, maintain and market an effective and visible website and be illustrated by practical case histories using participants sites where appropriate. It will assist businesses with the task of planning and developing their online presence. It will identify what information the participants businesses need to publish to their target online audience, how it should/could be displayed and what functionality they need in place in order to engage with this audience. General tips and advice regarding marketing this new/upgrade website for a business will also be a vital part of the programme.

The training programme is expected to provide individuals with skills to build and optimise a business web presence, specify for a new website if required, develop a new website using trial content management system if required and to capitalise on developing an integrated traditional and digital market strategy in place for the web presence.

NOTE: While Wordpress itself is free to use, BUT every website needs a domain (e.g. www.newbuisness.ie) AND hosting. Participants WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE THIS ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE PROGRAMME: the cost will be roughly €60 for a year of hosting. Participants can choose any hosting company they want, but the trainer will provide some recommendations as well as any available discount codes
