Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise Development

Begins January 2023 at MERITS, Naas. 

This Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise Development produces graduates that possess the skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions for themselves and their employers. The course links higher education and innovation to the needs of entrepreneurs and businesses across the region, providing graduates who can work across disciplines to promote innovation and enterprise development. It will support Ireland in becoming a country recognised for both rural and urban innovation, competitive advantage and continuing academic excellence. It will also help foster a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship where Irish graduates can be job shapers and not just job seekers.

To achieve this, the programme teaches participants the skills they need to translate creative and innovative ideas into products, services and policies for commercial, social and cultural benefit. Enterprising students learn the fundamentals of creative and design thinking, idea development, opportunity generation/recognition and venture planning tools to bring innovative products and services to market. Students will also learn to be innovative and entrepreneurial in their approach to problem solving and to addressing national, international and societal issues.
