Objective:
The Green for Micro program provides an introduction to environmental best practice and helps in the preparation of a formalised environmental management structure. This can help companies achieve competitive advantage through greater resource efficiency (energy/water/waste costs) and greater market share through enhanced credentials in a short, focused engagement. The seeds of Green Lean thinking will be nurtured throughout the course and engagement discussing wastes and pain-points and laying a foundation for continuous energy improvement.
Who is it aimed at?
The programme is designed for companies that are unfamiliar with and lacking capability in using environmental systems and structures. This programme has been specifically tailored to suit micro and small enterprises who want to focus attention and effort on reducing energy cost and embarking on their Green Business journey. It can help companies achieve competitive advantage through greater resource efficiency (energy/water/waste costs) and greater market share through enhanced credentials in a short, focused engagement.
Programme Details:
The Green for Micro Programme in Kildare will follow 4 stages:
- Discovery - a pre-training call with the client to understand their needs and expectations,
- Training – 1-day Green Thinking workshop covering the essentials of Green thinking with specific and tailored examples to participant industries.
- Mentoring – up to 5 half days of onsite mentoring with experienced Environmental Efficiency Mentor. It will consist of a short focused in company assignment delivering a cost saving or energy efficiency improvement as agreed in the project charter.
- Support – a group closing session to share experiences & lessons learned.
Who is facilitating the Green for Micro Programme?
The programme is being facilitated by Jigsaw VAE. They are experienced in delivering business improvement training and consultancy across multiple sectors and within different functions of each organisation. They help make businesses better through creative problem solving, people development and process innovation. This programme will be delivered by Shane Mooney. Shane has over 18 years’ experience working in a broad range of industry sectors. Shane has worked extensively with the EPA in the past 10 years bringing approximately 25 companies through the EPA Cleaner Greener Program.
