Irish Olympian, Derval O'Rourke, to feature at this year's Local Enterprise Week

On next Wednesday evening, 4th March in The Atrium, City Hall, Derval will be giving a “Start Your Own Business” workshop which is targeted at full time or part time sportspeople but is also open to other budding entrepreneurs. In conversation with Aodan Enright (Smarter Egg), Derval will share insights from her own transition from elite athlete to digital health and wellness entrepreneur, and will also be exploring how you go about making a business idea a reality, what services are available to people and how people can leverage their network and profile.

Derval said: “I’m really passionate about healthy living and we went to LEO Cork City with our plans. They were and still are a massive help in the development of our business. It has been amazing to tie into the expert knowledge at the LEO.”

Paul McGuirk, Head of Enterprise at the Local Enterprise Office, Cork City said: “LEO Cork City is keen to assist you in this journey and we can also link you to a range of supports that can contribute to your business success. Whilst this event is targeted at sportspeople, it will also be valuable more generally to would be entrepreneurs.”

Light refreshments will be available on arrival at 5.30pm. The event is free but prior booking on https://www.localenterprise.ie/CorkCity/Training-Events/Online-Bookings/On-the-Startline-with-Derval-O-Rourke.html is essential.
