The Local Enterprise Office,Cork City, is offering this programme to Cork based small businesses. The programme, which is delivered by Sandra Coombes of Coombes HRM, will cover employment law and compliance, as well as performance management and disciplinary skills. By the end of the programme your business should have all of the required HR documentation for compliance and procedural best practice in place and you will be better equipped to get the best from your staff. Format: Three 1/2 day workshops with a one-to-one follow up workshop with the trainer.Workshop 1: Practical Employment Law – Part A• Know the key aspects and angles to include in contracts of employment• Understand the NERA requirements• Understand and be able to apply the main areas of employment law• Understand and write job descriptions• Understand the legal framework in dealing with disciplinary issuesIn advance of the second workshop, participants will receive soft copies of an employee handbook with generic policies and customizing them will be covered at the second workshop.Workshop 2: Practical Employment Law – Part B• Receive all sample policies needed to complete your employee handbook which you can later to adopt to suit your Company• The workshop will be taken up going through the content of each and every policy that is required by law and in best practice• Participants will have everything they need to personalize the documents to their own company• Understand and apply the disciplinary policy and industry best practice effectivelyWorkshop 3: Performance Management and Disciplinary Skills• Understand the benefits and responsibilities of performance management• Know how to set SMART goals and how to review and to monitor those goals in a performance management system
