About the mentor

Philip Walker of EcoMerit

Phil is an engineer who started his career in the UK shipbuilding industry. Later he was based in South Korea, then China, developing quality and environmental certification businesses for an international certification body.

He is now managing director of EcoMerit Ltd., providing environmental support and certification for Irish businesses to improve their sustainability while making significant savings in their energy, waste and water costs. There are now more than 100 EcoMerit certified sites across Ireland.

Phil holds a first class honours degree in Naval Architecture; an M.Sc. in Production Technology; a Diploma in Welding Technology; and a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management.
