Building a Craft & Design Enterprise Programme 2020

Cork LEOs seeking applicants for new craft and design programme commencing March 2020

 

Cork LEOs, in partnership with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, are seeking ambitious and creative enterprises, trading for at least 18 months, that wish to inject new ideas and approaches to product development into their practice. 

The programme is a premium package of support tailored for design-makers and craftspeople aimed at boosting product development, export potential, employment and commerciality of websites through bespoke workshops, mentoring and an accompanied retail/trade research visit to London.   

The programme will be delivered March-November and comprises of 7 training days, 5 one-to-one mentoring sessions and a London Trade Show Research Trip.

The programme will help you to:

  • Cost and promote your product in the market
  • Research future markets

 

The workshops and mentoring will cover:

  • Current Design and Business Trends
  • Product Development: Part 1

  • My Business Structure and Organisation

  • Costing and Pricing my design and production

  • Website Audit and Optimisation

  • Business, Design and Brand

  • Product Development: Part 2

  • Effective Sales – National and International Shows

 

The venue for the training days and the mentoring sessions is the Rochestown Park Hotel, Douglas, Cork.

Completed Application Forms with 3 digital images of your work to be submitted to your local LEO on or before 5pm on Friday, 14th February 2020.

Eligibility and Conditions

  • Businesses must be trading for a minimum of 18 months

  • The fee is €250 which is highly subsidised by the Local Enterprise Offices

  • The cost of the London Research Trip is in addition to the subsidised €250 programme fee   - applicants are advised to consider applying to their local LEO for a T.A.M.E. Grant to cover the cost of same.
