Business Incentive Schemes

Longford Local Enterprise Office offer two Business Incentive Schemes. The first and original BIS Scheme, the Occupation of Vacant Commercial Premise Scheme offers new businesses reduced rates to move into previously vacant premises in Longford. In addition to this original Scheme, there is the newer Shopfront Scheme - Addendum to Business Incentive Scheme 2019-21, which offers supports to retail businesses.

Occupation of Vacant Commercial Premises Scheme

The Occupation of Vacant Commercial Premises Scheme encourages the use of vacant commercial premises by incentivising both landlords and new businesses to occupy vacant premises by lowering entry costs through a grant related to the level of rates payable on the property.

This Scheme is open to newly established business setting up within Longford town or county, existing business relocating or expanding from outside Longford or an existing business maintaining current location and expanding into a new location within Longford
