What is a Priming Grant?
A Priming Grant is a business start-up grant to help get business up and running and is available to micro-enterprises within the first 18 months of start-up.
Who can apply for a Priming Grant?
Micro-enterprises (including limited companies, designated activity companies, sole traders, co-operatives and partnerships) can apply for a Priming Grant. Business must also:
- not employ more than 10 people
- be established, registered, and operate within the area of Longford, Local Enterprise Office
- operate in the commercial field
- show there is a market for the product or service
- have the potential for growth in domestic or export markets
- have potential for job creation without affecting existing local business
What does the Priming Grant cover?
Priming Grants may be used to buy new equipment or help with direct business costs (such as salary, rental costs, utilities, marketing and consultancy costs), however, it is not available for the purchase of a building, land or mobile assets. Grant expenditure may be considered under the following headings: Capital Items, Salary Costs, Consultancy, Innovation and Marketing Costs, General Overhead Costs (Terms and Conditions Apply, consult the
