LEO Dublin City are excited to announce a new project Design 4 Growth which has been developed out of the Hidden Rooms conference:– Design 4 Growth is a scheme to help small enterprises utilise strategic design to improve their business and is supported The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland.
Suitable candidates for this programme may not have considered how design can help their business or may not have fully explored the potential of design to date. The Design 4 Growth scheme will place a designer with the enterprise to help in identifying and commissioning the right design services.
Why is design important? Research shows that Irish companies that value design innovative more successfully. Companies that integrate design more strategically within their organisations experience greater demand for their goods and services.
If your company gets on board with this project you can utilise design methods to get more out of the opportunities that you are presented with at various stages of the development cycle. Your company could exploit design methods to develop your business model and find routes to market.
LEO Dublin City are looking for 50 businesses to commence working with us on this pilot initiative. 15 businesses will have the opportunity to work with a Design Advisor on a part funded basis to develop a design strategy tailored to improving their business. 5 businesses will be selected to implement the design strategy on a part funded basis. Participation on this course will display the benefits of a design led approach, will afford an opportunity to identify the challenges faced and discover appropriate solutions.
LEO Dublin City are delighted to announce Toby Scott as our Senior Design Strategist. Toby has worked with various SME's throughout Ireland and the UK, he has worked as Director of the UK Design Council and as founder of the Irish Centre for Design Innovation charged with the task of increasing growth.
Design 4 Growth will be launched on 17th September in Wood Quay Venue at 11:30am by Minister Ged Nash, Minister of State for Business and Employment and Lord Mayor of Dublin Críona Ní Dhálaigh. At the launch there will be an open call for small enterprises to apply to participate. The launch event is free to attend however you must register in advance. Lunch will be provided.
The operation of the pilot is being funded by ID2015.
