NEWS: Network of Enterprising Women in South Dublin
“Being able to rely on the other women in your life is the most important thing. After all, they have probably gone through the same thing, will benefit from your life experience or are simultaneously going through it alongside you. Female friendship is invaluable. As I grow older, I realise how similar most women are. When someone can say to you, ‘I know how you feel’, that’s helped me to grow more than anything else.” Saoirse Ronan, Actress
Women are widely recognised for their strong communication and collaboration skills. These skills are valuable in business, where connection and shared learning play an important role. Many women in South Dublin are looking for opportunities to connect with other female business owners who understand their experiences and challenges.
Local Enterprise Office South Dublin has developed the Network of Enterprising Women in South Dublin (NEWS) to support this need. NEWS provides a space for female entrepreneurs to build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with like‑minded business owners in the local area.
Building strong business connections
Networking is not only about generating sales leads, although this can be a positive outcome. It is also about building supportive relationships with people who may be facing similar challenges. NEWS gives women in business the opportunity to share experiences, offer practical advice, and support one another as they grow their businesses.
Events and learning opportunities
NEWS hosts a series of events throughout the year. These events focus on topics that are relevant to women in business today. Event formats vary and are designed to be informative, practical, and engaging. We recognise that business owners have many demands on their time, and events are planned with this in mind.
Membership
Membership of NEWS is free. Members have access to events, training, and business supports provided by Local Enterprise Office South Dublin. These supports are designed to meet the needs of women at different stages of their business journey.
