Local Enterprise Week 2016

Local Enterprise Office (LEO) South Dublin is holding a series of exciting events during Local Enterprise Week 2016.  All 31 Local Enterprise Offices around the country are running hundreds of events during the week 7^th to 13^th of March, to promote the supports available to local entrepreneurs and businesses.

Mayor Sarah Holland speaking at the start of the Local Enterprise Week on Monday 7^th March, in the Local Enterprise Office, stated that:

“South Dublin County Council wants to ensure that this is the best county in which to set up, operate and expand a business.  Fostering Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is an essential part of the role of the Local Enterprise Office and we provide business advice, training, mentoring, financial assistance, networking as well as a strong Youth Enterprise programme and promotional events such as the Local Enterprise Week”.

Colm Ward, Head of Enterprise, South Dublin said that :

“We want to help small businesses to identify opportunities for growth. Equally, anyone with a viable idea for a new business needs to be encouraged to pursue that ambition.  Local Enterprise Week is a brilliant platform to help increase awareness of the role of LEOs both here in South Dublin and throughout the country in helping to create and sustain local jobs. The week-long schedule of events highlights what is available to new and existing micro enterprises and business through a range of advisory, training, mentoring and financial supports”.

Over the course of the week, LEO South Dublin will deliver a wide variety of events aimed at developing all aspects of business skills.  These events will cover idea generation, business planning, funding and marketing.  There will also be a focus on exporting, perfecting your pitch, greening your business and a regional Start Up Bootcamp.

Along with student and local enterprise events, there will be a series of regional and networking events in conjunction with LEOs across the Dublin region.

A particular highlight of the week will be the event featuring Dublin All-Ireland Winner and successful entrepreneur Philly McMahon on 9^th March where Philly will speak about the lessons learned from his business, sporting and life experiences.
