Wyldsson Ltd. is healthy snack Food Company co-founded by Dave McGeady and Daragh Whelan.
Wyldsson is located in Tallaght, Dublin 24. Like many others during the recession after 2008, Dave found it difficult to secure employment, but he had an idea. Knowing how difficult it was to find healthy snack foods and preferring his mum’s own snack mixes of nuts, seeds, and fruits to anything that was available, he started his own company in 2012.
Dave experimented with different ingredients at his kitchen table and attended trade fairs across the world to source his ingredients. He expanded the range to 30 products, all of which are gluten and dairy-free with no added sugars, and importantly, are produced in Tallaght.
Dave and Daragh knew the basic Wyldsson web store needed to be updated. Dave recalls that when golfer Paul Dunne was seen on television eating their products, with an audience of 4 million people, the Wyldsson website crashed from the surge in visitors. Dave contacted the Local Enterprise Office in South Dublin and applied for a Trading Online Voucher.
With help from the Trading Online Voucher Scheme, Wyldsson experienced an increase in sales and now employs 2 additional people full-time. Today, exports account for 35% of Wyldsson sales. With plans to expand further into the US market, this is one company with a very healthy-looking future.
