Local Enterprise Office to host Tech Founders Summit to inspire technology entrepreneurs in County Wexford
The Local Enterprise Office in Wexford County Council is holding a Tech Founders Summit at the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey on Wednesday 9th March from 2pm to 5pm.
Organised as part of Local Enterprise Week, the Tech Founders Summit will feature panel discussions and Q&A sessions with the county’s top technology entrepreneurs - including panellists from Innovate, Sonru, Scurri and more. There will also be a keynote address given by one of Ireland’s most successful tech businessmen. Attendees will have the opportunity to make connections with potential collaborators and discover the burgeoning community of tech entrepreneurs that exists in County Wexford. There will also be information about the many different supports that are available from the Local Enterprise Office to entrepreneurs looking to start and build their own technology businesses in the county.
Tom Banville, Head of Enterprise at the Local Enterprise Office in Wexford County Council has organised this summit as a way to bring together and encourage the growing technology business community in County Wexford. He said, “Success stories like Sonru, Innovate, and Scurri are proof that, as a county, we have the talent, infrastructure, and ambition to be one of the best hubs for tech entrepreneurs in Europe. The Tech Founders Summit is about bringing that growing community of talented and enterprising individuals together in order to inspire the next wave of successful tech businesses in the county.”
Tony Larkin, Director of Services with responsibility for Economic Development in Wexford County Council notes that even the smallest tech start-up has the potential to grow rapidly and create jobs. He said, “This is an area where a one- or two-person operation with a great idea can expand rapidly into international markets. We’ve seen this in the past with companies like Scurri where jobs are then created locally in order to serve those bigger markets. We want to make sure that the people with those great ideas know that County Wexford is the right place for them to start and grow their technology businesses.”
Tickets for the Tech Founders Summit are €25 (including some post-event food and refreshments).
Tickets can be booked online here.
