Two entrepreneurs who have taken huge strides over the past year won the  Annual Awards of the Local Enterprise Office Dublin City Women in Business Network Award, held in person on 13th December for the first time since 2019, 

Awards Mary and April 

The winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Daisy Mauhay of The Nightingale Agency (https://tnpa.ie), has built a multi service business providing recruitment and deployment services to the health sector in Ireland since she set it up in 2016.  The company has a core staff of 10 full time office staff plus 2 community leaders for disability care in supported homes in Blackrock and community care with over 250 staff in her team, they provide Nurses, Carers and Multi Task Assistants for nursing homes and disability care homes. The company has expanded into international recruitment of skilled workers and general recruitment. They are also developing facilities to care for clients on a supported holiday home arrangement which will be launching soon.   April Ceria-Sotelo from Nightingale accepted the award on Daisy’s behalf.

Award Mary and Lauren

The winner of the Rising Star Award, Lauren O'Reilly, ProMotion Rewards (https://usepromotion.com) launched an app in 2022 to provide insights to Consumer Goods Brands while providing rewards to consumers, following strong interest from major brand names.  The business has raised €725,000 in funding this year and now employs three people full time.   The company has a competitive edge in how it allows brands to connect directly with consumers allowing them to influence consumer behaviour using their data. 

The winners were announced by Mary Mc Sweeney. Deputy Head of Enterprise and Economic Development who commended all of the members and particularly the award winners for their great achievements this year: “The Covid period gave us an opportunity to reevaluate and realise what is important.”

The perpetual trophies were designed by artist, sculptor and maker Ayelet Lalor (https://www.ayeletlalor.com).

The Awards were followed by a talk on her business story so far by successful entrepreneur Sharon Keegan of Peachylean who ended with “The business journey is like a rollercoaster.  There are a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns but make sure you enjoy the ride!”

These Awards are made every year to the winners of the LEO Dublin City Women in Business Network Awards.  This network is an initiative of the Local Enterprise Office Dublin City to support women who are starting and growing businesses and has over 160 members across a range of sectors.
