Gaining publicity for your business

Date: Monday 12th January 2015
Time: 19.00-21.00
Venue: Alexander Hotel, Fenian St (near Merrion Square), Dublin 2

Getting the word out about your business involves activities on a lot of fronts, including direct selling and social media, but there is a huge credibility value in building your business profile through the media.  We are lucky to have two businesswomen with extensive media experience giving talks at our 12th January events, sharing insights into how small businesses can best access the media.

Building a profile through publications

Rosemary Delaney copy (1)Speaker: Rosemary Delaney, Founder of WMB

Rosemary will talk about how small businesses can potentially get covered in publications and what they look for in terms of interesting businesses and thought leaders for expert articles.  She will also share the WMB story and her tips for women in business.

For over two decades, Rosemary has worked in the media industry rising to Managing Director level.  In 2006, she launched her own multi-media business – WMB Publishing; it includes the flagship title WMB – the Irish Magazine for Businesswomen and the business website: Womenmeanbusiness.com. A year later, she launched the very successful annual WMB Conference & Awards. Rosemary has been a past Chairman and Director of Magazines Ireland. She sat on the Steering Committee to establish a Press Council and subsequently sat on the first Press Council of Ireland.
In 2011, her first book aptly named: Women Mean Business – One Woman's Journey into Entrepreneurship was released (Orpen Press).  Most recently she was invited to join the Board of InterTradeIreland – the only organisation which has been given responsibility by both Governments to boost North/South economic co-operation.
She lives by the mantra borrowed from the great Walt Disney: 'If you dream it, you can do it'.
