Countdown to .ie registration changes

Countdown to .ie registration

The date for the change to the .ie registration process has now been confirmed. From March 21st 2018, the need to explain why you want a particular name (also called ‘claim to the name’) when registering a .ie domain name will be removed. It means that anyone with a connection to Ireland can register any available .ie domain name on a first-come, first-served basis.

Countdown to 2

As we approach the change, your clients or members may believe that their brand name and online identity are being protected by IE Domain Registry. However, this is not the case. They must safeguard their hard-won identity and secure any .ie domain names that are of value to them. We believe this is an important message to share with your networks now before the March 21st change.

Marketing Toolkit  We have updated our marketing toolkit with 2 graphics highlighting the date. The toolkit also includes materials, such as video animations, which explain the change and how it could affect your clients or members. We encourage you to share these with your networks through your communications channels.
