  • The Local Enterprise Village is a curated showcase of 31 small businesses (one per LEO) at the National Ploughing Championships 2026.
  • The event takes place 15–17 September 2026 in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
  • This is a large scale promotional opportunity with over 250,000 consumers attending each year!

Clients should:

  • Be at least 12 months trading
  • Be LEO-supported or LEO-engaged
  • Have a strong product or service, ideally with:
    • Clear branding
    • Consumer appeal
    • Growth or export potential
  • Be able to benefit from a large consumer footfall
  • Be marketing- and PR-ready (good website, social media presence, etc.)

Not suitable:

  • Student Enterprise Programme participants
  • Businesses expecting a retail-focused or sales-only event
  • Clients unwilling or unable to attend mandatory briefings
  • Food businesses where food is prepared at the event

Key Dates:

  • Applications close: 12 May 2026
  • Successful applicants notified: 18 May 2026
  • Payment deadline: 29 May 2026
  • Briefings: 30 June & 1 July 2026
  • Event dates: 15–17 September 2026

Cost:

Stand Cost

  • €800 (flat fee)
  • Stand size: 2m x 2m
  • No VAT
  • No contribution or funding from LEOs (this must be paid by the client)

Payment Terms

  • Payment is:
    • Requested only if the client is successful
    • Made online in advance
    • Collected via Limerick LEO
  • Payment deadline: 29 May 2026
  • If payment is not received, the place can be reallocated

Each selected client receives:

  • 2m x 2m exhibition stand
  • Client name plate
  • Electricity (double socket)
  • 2 spotlights
  • 2 exhibitor passes
  • 1 exhibitor car park pass
  • Build & break pass (set-up day)
  • Social media / PR photography
  • Feature in Sunday Independent Supplement
  • Access to LEO / NPA PR opportunities
  • WiFi, toilets and general event services
  • Digital marketing training and support

Additional Costs:

Clients must cover their own:

  • Staff time & wages
  • Travel and accommodation
  • Product transport and giveaways
  • Marketing materials (banners, stands, print, etc.)
  • Public liability insurance (mandatory)
  • Stock insurance (strongly advised)

For food businesses:

  • Additional equipment costs may apply
  • Sampling/sales restrictions apply (see below)

Key Conditions & Terms Clients Must Accept

Food Businesses

  • Sampling and/or sale for home consumption only
  • NO consumption on site (strict NPA permit rule)
  • Extra requirements and costs may apply (explained at briefing)

Insurance

  • Clients must provide their own public liability insurance
  • Stock insurance is recommended

Briefings (Mandatory)

  • Clients must attend one full-day, in-person briefing
  • Locations (2026):
    • Heritage Hotel, Co. Laois – 30 June
    • Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone – 1 July
  • Non-attendance could jeopardise participation

Stand Rules

  • No group stands
  • No non-shell scheme stands
  • No morning-of-event stand setup
  • Setup is scheduled between 12–14 September
