The County Wexford Women in Business Network is an invaluable resource for business women in the county to meet and learn about best practice in running a small business from experts in various fields.
The network is a support mechanism encouraging women in developing new skills, promoting each others products and services and learning from the experiences of others.
Generally six network meetings are held annually. Members receive a letter informing them of upcoming events and inviting them to register their interest in attending.
Members are also encouraged to submit information/articles on various business topics, including marketing events of their own businesses.

Joanna Symes. Joanna is the Regional Head, Diversity and Inclusion - EMEA, based in London. Joanna reports directly to the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion and serves as a leading member of the Office of Global Diversity and Inclusion and as a member of the EMEM regional BNY Mellon Diversity & Inclusion Council. In this role, Joana provides broad-based support and through leadership on EMEA regional as well as global Diversity and Inclusion strategy and execution and serves as the EMEA regional diversity liaison for all HR managers, EMEA Executive Committee and Operating Committee members across all business units, for the EMEA Diversity and Inclusion Council and all Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the region. Additionally she will be a member of the EMEA Employee Engagement Steering Committee, which is represented by the Site Heads in each EMEA location.
Prior to joining the office of Global Diversity, Joanna served as one of the Senior HR Business Partners (HRBP) in Asia Pacific where she was based in Hong Kong. She has been a member of the APAC HR Leadership team with regional responsibility for the provision of HRBP services supporting the Business Partner groups, Global Markets, Global Client Management, Client Technology Solutions and Client Service Delivery. Prior to relocating to Hong Kong, Joanna was based in London and held a number of EMEA regional HR roles. She joined the Bank of New York Mellon in 2005 following a period with HSBC Asset Management. Jo has over 13 years of human resource experience within global financial services organisations. She holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies with Human Resource Management and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Mary McEvoy. Mary is currently Vice President in IDA Ireland for the Technology, Consumer and Business Services based in Dublin. She recently completed a four year assignment in Atlanta, GA covering the Midwest territory. Prior to that she worked for Enterprise Ireland managing the South East region for four years and also as a Marketing Sales and Strategy Adviser to clients. Mary also spent a number of years working in Kilkenny and Carlow in local development to encourage business investment. She also ran the FUSE initiative, a two year initiative during the recession which 250 entrepreneurs in the region joined and its focus was getting entrepreneurs to help each other grow business. Mary also has private sector experience, having worked in Boston early in her career running a sales office for a Cork software company and also in Dublin for an Irish IT Solutions. Mary holds a BBS from UL, an MBA from Smurfit Business School and a Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the IMI. Mary lives in Kilkenny and is mother to one daughter. She loves to travel and meet new people.
Regina Mangan, (MIPAV) Managing Director of Bookaroom.ie & Liberty Blue Estate Agents. Regina set up Bookaroom.ie, Waterford’s first Property Management Company in 1997. Now almost 20 years in business Regina expanded into Property Sales in 2014, setting up Liberty Blue Estate Agents. She employs 9 people within the business and over 10 external contractors. Regina is a licenced auctioneer with a particular interest in marketing and innovation. She is involved with a number of voluntary initiatives such as, Ambassador for Waterford City Council, as a member of the evaluation committee for the Waterford LEO and Chair for Darkness into Light Waterford. Over the years Regina has delivered start your own business modules for LEO Waterford and one to one business mentoring.
Regina is always keen to upskill and has completed courses such as; Fetac Train the Trainer, Lean Six Sigma, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and more. She is a strong believer in outsourcing and retaining talent and her team are with her from as far back as 2004. Continuous development of her team has played a significant part in her business success to date. Regina is always up for a challenge and took part in a boxing fight for the Irish Heart Foundation last November. “Keeping fit and healthy keeps me on top of my game in business”, says Regina. Top class customer service, continuous innovation and strategic planning is always top of Regina’s agenda in business. Being a mom to one little boy keeps Regina very grounded.
