In today’s Irish business environment, organisations face multiple pressures: rising input, labour, and compliance costs; fragmented, manual workflows; increasing regulatory and technological demands; and a need to do more with less. According to Enterprise Ireland, software, APIs and automation present significant opportunities to cut costs and enable growth. Many businesses, however, struggle with where to start, how to prioritise, and how to implement reliably. This programme offers participants a structured journey. We will explore the key concepts, frameworks, best practices and practical steps required to deploy software integrations and automation within an Irish SME or public-sector context.

Course content:

  • Articulate a business-driven automation/integration strategy aligned with organisational goals and Irish regulatory/compliance context.
  • Identify and prioritise key workflows for automation or integration using simple frameworks.
  • Understand the technical architecture of software integrations, including APIs, middleware, connectors, data flows, and security considerations.
  • Design a high-level integration/automation solution roadmap, including vendor/tech selection, organisational change, risk & governance, and implementation planning.
  • Prepare an actionable “starter project” plan with roles, timeline, metrics and budget for a first integration or automation initiative.
