LEO Dublin City Women in Business Network Award Winners 2014

The winners of the Female Entrepreneur of the year by LEO Dublin City’s Women in Business Network were presented by Greg Swift, Head of Enterprise for the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Dublin City, at the 2014 Christmas Networking event for LEO Dublin City Networks. The event took place in the House of Lords Room in the Bank of Ireland.

Winner of Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award: Sabine Hobbel, Leaves

Sabine Hobbel Winner 2014Sabine Hobbel co-founder of Leaves, a food company that challenges the perception that healthy food cannot taste great, is the overall winner of the LEO Dublin City Women in Business 2014 Awards.  The prizes were a perpetual trophy, €1000 cash, a €500 DCEB voucher and a Certificate.

By focusing on food that is delicious and good for you, Leaves has already created a reputation for itself through its corporate catering services, its food manufacturing and its branded products. In November 2013, Leaves' Artisan Pasta became available in supermarkets and speciality stores. The three creative flavours of pasta made with truffle and buckwheat, spelt and hempseed, and rye and seaweed allow consumers and restaurants alike to create stunning yet healthy dishes.

Ever since starting trading in December 2013, Leaves has continued to grow rapidly and currently employs four people. Leaves is based in the Spade Enterprise Centre in Smithfield.

Winner of ‘Rising Star’ Award: Rosanna Fiorenza, Travelling Languages

Rosanna Rosanna Fiorenza, Travelling Languages is the winner of the LEO Dublin City Women in Business “Rising Star 2014” Award. The prizes are a perpetual trophy, €500 cash, a €500 DCEB voucher and a Certificate.

Rosanna is co-founder of Travelling Languages. a language school focused on total immersion courses. Travelling Languages’ method is the only one that puts together language programmes, amazing trips in various countries and the pleasure of engaging with native speakers. It is a real language holiday: it’s not just the usual “tuition + activities”, but it’s a real total immersion in the language, the culture and the country! The business works with many partners and has steadily grown its business. It now has four full time employees, two part time teachers and employed up to 9 people all together during peak season, welcoming over 300 students in 2014. The school is also recognised by ACELS, a service of Quality and Qualifications Ireland, for English language teaching and it is currently expanding teaching other languages in other countries.
