In a challenging year for all businesses, our 2020 Award winners displayed great ambition for their businesses and an ability to adapt to the changed circumstances.  Kate O’Moore of MAKER Dublin, the winner of the Female Entrepreneur of the Year, moved her core design business online and was able to work with her clients remotely.  Kate also moved her Branding Workshops online and invested time in developing her blog and planning additional content creation.

The winner of the Rising Star Award 2020, Aisling Grimley, The Silk Pillowcase, launched her online shop for a range of luxury silk products and grew her business strongly while also starting to open up sales through retailers.
The Awards were announced on Monday night on a special Awards and Networking Zoom event, opened by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu and addressed by founder and CEO of Chupi Jewellery, Chupi Sweetman.  The winners were announced by Mary Mc Sweeney. Deputy Head of Enterprise and Economic Development and the talks were followed by networking facilitated by Jean Evans.

These Awards are made every year to the winners of the LEO Dublin City Women in Business Network Awards.  This network is an initiative of the Local Enterprise Office Dubin City to support women who are starting and growing businesses and has over 140 members across a range of sectors.
