WICKLOW’S SMALL BUSINESSES AND ENTREPRENEURS URGED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOCAL ENTERPRISE WEEK 2020

 

The first week in March will see small businesses and budding entrepreneurs gather across the country for Local Enterprise Week 2020.  An initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices, thousands of attendees are expected at over 300 events across the country during the week aimed at supporting small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship.

The programme events being run by Local Enterprise Office Wicklow for Local Enterprise Week 2020 has been launched and with a range of events taking place from the 2nd – 6th March, there is something for everyone.  Headlining events in Wicklow include: 

  • Start Your Own Business Course, this 10-week course is a great starting point for anybody looking to get their business up and going and covers all elements essential for getting started the right way.
  • Green Your Business Seminar will help business owners to reduce costs and sustain their businesses for the future. Guest speakers for this FREE event include Ron Immink a Dutch/Irish entrepreneur with extensive experience in entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, strategy, innovation and SME engagement. Dr. Joanne Rourke, Resource Efficiency Officer with the Eastern Midlands Regional Waste Management Office and Maeve Morrissey from the SEAI who will detail the business supports to reduce your carbon footprint available through SEAI. The seminar takes place on Tuesday 3rd March at the Parkview Hotel, Newtownmountkennedy and admission is free but booking essential.
  • GDPR is as relevant if not more relevant today as it was when first introduced in May 2018 which is why the Local Enterprise Office Wicklow have General Data Protection Regulations Clinics on during Local Enterprise Week.
  • There are also Digital Marketing & Website Advice Clinics running which are great for any business owner who wants to identify numerous ways in which they can improve and get results with their online marketing efforts.

The week really is an opportunity for small businesses and entrepreneurs to sample the range of supports that are on offer from their Local Enterprise Office related to a whole host of areas.  This will include financial supports, selling, networking, Brexit support, social media workshops, LEAN programmes and sessions dealing with how to make your business more sustainable.  All Wicklow events can be booked through: www.localenterprise.ie/wicklow and you can join the conversation on social media using #MakingItHappen

The Local Enterprise Offices located in the local authorities and funded through Enterprise Ireland support over 7,000 small Irish businesses and entrepreneurs nationwide.  Since their establishment in 2014 they have helped create over 18,000 jobs and provide a range of supports to small businesses including mentoring, training and sector specific expert to help guide businesses at any stage of their development.
