Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters

TAME

Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters’ grants will part-fund the cost that will be incurred in investigating and researching export markets, e.g. exhibiting at Trade Fairs, preparing marketing material and developing websites specifically targeting overseas markets. 

Note: 

(a)  All Applications must be typed

(b)  Applications must be received minimum six weeks prior to attendance at trade fair

(c) Clients cannot be approved a Technical Assistance for Micro Exporter’s Grant/s of more than a maximum cumulative value of €2,500 per calendar year.

Grant Terms:

  • Grant covers 50% of eligible costs (ex vat), a maximum cumulative value of €2,500 per calendar year
  • Applications must be made prior to any expenditure being incurred
  • Payments will be made to approved projects on receipt of proof of payment of all qualifying and approved expenses. You must drawdown any funding offer within a  maximum of 12 months of the letter of offer or within 2 months from the  date of attendance at the approved trade fair; and, any approved amount not drawn down by whichever applicable date beyond the grant offer will  automatically be decommitted.
  • Successful applicants should consider using an Enterprise Ireland Mentor to develop an export/marketing plan

Projects eligible for support include:

  • Enterprises engaged in manufacturing or internationally traded services
  • Enterprises not employing more than 10 people
  • Enterprises located within the geographic location of the LEO Dublin City i.e. Dublin 1-17 and 20
  • Enterprise operating in the commercial sphere
  • Enterprises must demonstrate a market for their proposed product/service i.e. Must have Sales (Minimum 6 Months)
  • Innovative businesses with prototype products
  • Enterprises must not have received any funding for this proposal from any other source

Eligible Expenditure Categories

  • Participation at trade fairs and shows covering trade fair exhibitor costs including rental/fees relating to space/stands *
  • Participation at international trade networking events organised through the Enterprise Europe Network
  • Development of specific Marketing Materials aimed at exploring new export markets
  • Translation, e.g. of existing material (booklets, webpages, etc. for export markets)
  • Development of export related websites
  • Investigation of new internal or external process to develop export business, e.g. new business model or the carrying out of non-regulatory requirements

Ineligible Expenditure Categories

  • Domestic trade fairs and shows unless proven that overseas buyers participate
  • Researching expanding market/sales activities within the Republic of Ireland
  • Researching into existing markets for existing products
  • Attendance at international conferences, summits, forums, symposiums, stand-alone company events are not eligible for support.

Note

  • Economy Flight Costs are eligible with other travel and subsistence costs subject to the LEO Dublin City maximum limits.
  • Travel & Subsistence Costs are only eligible for overseas trips as follows: Eligible Travel Costs: Economy Air/Ferry or Rail Fares; Mileage (60c per kilometre) or Economy Car Hire (mileage cannot be claimed on Car Hire).

  • Applications must be typed.  Hand-written copies will not be accepted.
  • The Company represents and warrants that it is not directly or indirectly, by way of trading (exports and/or imports), funding, self-financing arrangements, ownership, control, shareholdings, investments, financing of, and financial interactions with, others, participation in projects, operations, provision of access to ports, or otherwise, in breach of the restrictions, measures or sanctions provided for under European Council Decisions and European Council Regulations, including,  but not limited to, those adopted in 2014 and in 2022, each of which are concerning restrictive measures or sanctions in respect of or arising from actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, including those which were adopted consequent upon  Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, 2022, and thereafter, or in response to the military conflict in Ukrainian territories in 2014 and subsequently, or in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastapol by Russia, or in view of the situation in Belarus and the involvement of Belarus in the Russian aggression against Ukraine, or in response to the recognition by Russia of the non-government controlled areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine and the ordering of Russian armed forces into those areas.

Application

  • Get quotes for each item, these may be in form of emails from suppliers, screengrabs from exhibition website, airline, hotel provider etc.
    • A Quotation must be provided in respect of each item of planned expenditure in excess of €100
    • If item of expenditure is covering trade fair exhibition costs then 1 quote is sufficient as this is unique to the event. For all other items, if the value is €5,000+ to one supplier, then 3 quotes must be provided e.g. marketing material, export related website, investigating new internal or external process
  • Provide details of the Trade Fair  – outline your purpose in attending, date, venue, link to Trade Fair website etc.
  • Complete & submit application the form at the link below and return with supporting documentation as pdf/jpg attachments by email to tame@dublincity.ie - soft copy only.
  • Wait for email confirming receipt of application
  • Review & assessment will then take place

*If approved, a letter of offer will be sent. Please return the acceptance copy 

*After the event has taken place please submit your grant claim
